Anja Balle’s multimedia work is inspired by the relationship between the fleeting natural world and its human counterpart. Using image and object making, Anja is drawn to the raw materials found in their local environment. Their process involves a curious tactile approach, reminiscent of ethnographic research, as they discover raw material both in craft and design.

They currently make work in Chicago, Illinois and use a variety of materials like wool, botanicals, and digital print.
